New Children In The DR Congo
Thousands of children are right now struggling to survive in refugee camps in the eastern DR Congo. Decades of civil war and fractious infighting between rebel militias and government troops has destroyed countless families.

The children orphaned by these events are simply left to fend for themselves. Forced to seek refuge anywhere and in any way they can. Even living and sleeping in the jungle like wild animals. Too many have succumbed to illness and starvation.

Recently ICC made the decision to take in fourteen of these orphaned children and make them part of our ICC family. You may read their story through the following link.

A Special Opportunity
ICC is privileged to partner with the organization VersaCare. Through this partnership, ICC and VersaCare have made a significant difference to many of ICC’s children. VersaCare’s aid has allowed ICC to create a number of vital upgrades to the infrastructure of several of our projects.

Doug Congleton, ICC’s executive director, was invited to speak at VersaCare’s annual board meeting held on March 22. Doug presented to the board a report which let them see first-hand how their involvement with ICC has made an immeasurable difference to ICC’s children.

We deeply appreciate the opportunity provided us to speak at VersaCare's board meeting. May this partnership truly become the place Where Hope Begins.

Sponsors Speak
Nancy and Bill Pellow embarked upon a multi-path journey as sponsors of ICC children. Each path has led them to discover the love and joy that is the result of choosing to make these children a part of their family.

Are you considering becoming a sponsor and including one of ICC's children in your family? You will be inspired by reading the Pellow’s testimony of their experiences as a truly global family. Please then, take into consideration how deeply and affirmatively the Pellow’s lives have been affected in the course of their on-going journey as sponsors.

Matching Fund Supports Congo
We realize it seems almost a cliché to say that children are dying every day in the DR Congo. That every week we receive stories from our staff in the DR Congo about how children are dying without hope. Yet it is the truth. Right now, at this moment, these awful circumstances continue unabated costing the lives of too many innocent kids.

We have been gifted $5,000 as a matching fund for donations made to our project in the DR Congo. Any donation you make will be doubled until the matching funds have been assigned.

We have been given the opportunity to actually save the lives of a number of children. These children otherwise face a desperate future and near-certain death. Help us and you will become a savior to these children. Please donate today.

Donate now and literally save lives! >

Sponsors, Tell Us Your Stories
We have a recurring feature which is now running in both the Informateur and the Qué Pasa. We are telling stories from our sponsors about how, through ICC, their lives have been personally affected by making one or more of “His Kids” part of their family.

We would love to hear your story. Please tell us about your experience as a sponsor. Send an email or letter to Doug Congleton, ICC’s executive director, relating your personal journey while sponsoring an ICC child.

Send your story to Doug >

What’s In The Next Qué Pasa?
The April 2013 Qué Pasa includes the first part of story in three installments from ICC’s public relations director, Joel Reyes. Joel tells the riveting story of Hugo. Here is an excerpt:

“One day Hugo waited for his father until very late but he didn’t come home. It was not unusual for his father to come home late, so the family didn’t think much of it. Their mother reassured them that everything was fine and that daddy would come and say good night when he got home.

“[Hugo] woke up a little earlier than usual the next morning. He wanted to see his daddy before [his daddy] left for work. To his surprise his father wasn’t home. There were many other adults all talking in low voices. Some were crying, including his mother.”

You can read the first installment of Hugo’s story and much more in the April 2013 Qué Pasa. Look for it to be in your mailbox soon!

How would you like to get a digital copy of the April 2013 Qué Pasa? One that you can read on your computer, tablet or smart phone? Click on the following link and you’ll be able read the Qué Pasa in PDF form. Enjoy!

ICC Logo None of this work would be possible without those who have committed their efforts to saving and changing the lives of “His Kids.” The children of ICC want to thank you from the bottom of their hearts for making a difference in their lives.

Occasionally when we call for funds for a specific need we receive more in donations than we requested. In those instances when we have received more money than we solicited, those funds will be placed in “Alcyon’s Angel Fund.”
