Sponsors Speak
This inaugural column begins our new addition to The Informateur. “Sponsors Speak” will be a regular feature beginning this month. Our first story comes from Robert who tells how he was inspired to become the sponsor of one of ICC’s children and how the experience is affecting his life.

It Was Good, It Was Really Good…
With fervent anticipation they once again congregated in Mechelen, Belgium. Entranced by the promise of culinary delights, they converged for a period of two days to satisfy their desire for boiled noodles. This pilgrimage is an annual rite for many but for others it was their initial induction into this yearly convention.

The Benefits of Strategic Partnership
It’s a simple fact that any nonprofit that strives to provide aid, relief and comfort to the disadvantaged people of the world needs funding to operate. Whether those funds come from donors, sponsorships, grants or strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations, funding is the life’s blood of all the nonprofits like ours.

ICC has formed one very special strategic partnership with the organization VersaCare. A provider of grants for specific projects undertaken by nonprofits, VersaCare has been an invaluable partner in ICC’s efforts to relieve the suffering of orphaned and abandoned children. Click the link to learn how ICC’s partnership with VersaCare is benefiting “His Kids.”

Help Our Kids Come Home
Do your kids come home from boarding school and college during holidays and summer vacation? Our kids here at ICC also enjoy going home during school breaks. Unfortunately, the distance that some must travel to get home is significant requiring for some days of travel.

The costs for our kids to travel home during school breaks and holidays is also significant. Joel Reyes, ICC’s director of public relations, has written a letter that best explains our needs for transportation. Please follow the link and read Joel’s appeal.

Thanks again for all you do to support “His Kids!”

Sponsors, Tell Us Your Stories
A new feature for both the Informateur and the Qué Pasa begins this month. We will be telling stories from our sponsors and how their lives have been personally affected by sponsoring a child through ICC.

What’s In The Next Qué Pasa?
The February 2013 Qué Pasa has a sobering and troubling message from ICC’s international development director, Kent Greve. This message relates recent events surrounding our children's village in the DR Congo. Here is an excerpt of a message from Désiré Murhima, our director in the DR Congo:

“As for the city of Goma, abandoned by all humanitarians, the population was confined to the fear of being caught by the bullets. My house has received some [damage from bullets], but thanks to God because those bullets did not hit anyone. All our agents living in Goma were also miraculously protected during this difficult period, and we believe that is a great miracle given the gravity of the situation [of those] that lived in the city…”

You can read Kent’s article and much more in the February 2013 Qué Pasa. Look for it to be in your mailbox soon!

How would you like to get a digital copy of the February 2013 Qué Pasa? One that you can read on your computer, tablet or smart phone? Click on the following link and you’ll be able read the Qué Pasa in PDF form. Enjoy!

ICC Logo on a blue background None of this work would be possible without those who have committed their efforts to saving and changing the lives of “His Kids.” The children of ICC want to thank you from the bottom of their hearts for making a difference in their lives.

Occasionally when we call for funds for a specific need we receive more in donations than we requested. In those instances when we have received more money than we solicited, those funds will be placed in “Alcyon’s Angel Fund.”
