Current Status

At the present time we have 8 homes open with 83 children. One of our ten homes is used to house the director of the school and her husband who serves as the ICC international educational director for the Americas. A second home is under repair. Funds are desperately needed to complete the remodeling and additions to the homes in the Dominican.

ICC has promoted a house mother to the position of director of children’s services. She has been doing a wonderful job. The children miss her as a mother in their home, but she has become mom to all the children now.

The first of January this year, Samuel who had just graduated with Theology was married to Carolyn. She is a lovely young lady who will be graduating this fall with a degree in psychology. We are so proud of our young people as they are becoming independent and serving the Lord in different areas of life.

During the next few weeks several important events will be taking place on campus. On August 28, 2005, 3 children will be graduating from first grade, 7 students from elementary and three from secondary school. This takes place after the children have gotten the results of their government examinations. School will start a week later.

Also, during the past few months a new water system was installed at Las Palmas with funds and expertise from VersaCare Foundation. We are praising the Lord for clean water. The water is pumped into a storage tank, chlorinated and pumped to the homes. The dedication of this project will take place at graduation time.

Dominican Republic ProjectThe weekend following graduation, Any, one of our young ladies that recently graduated from university, who returned as the manager of our bakery, will be marrying Samuel in our church on campus. Rick and Sharon are privileged to be able to attend the wedding. Samuel also graduated this past November from the university with a degree in business administration and is managing the bakery at the university.
